Secondary Schools

We hope to be able to provide information helpful to secondary school pupils about church furnishings and layout and spiritual life.

Meanwhile ............. Have a bit of 'Filosofy' ....

What are the most important questions in life?

Not ....... how can I get the best trainers, will (s)he go out with me, will I still have that spot on Saturday night! These are pressing worries and anxieties.

The BIG QUESTIONS are those about life:

1. who are we?
2. where are we?
3. what is wrong with this world?
4. what can make it right?

Christians who follow the way of life of Jesus Christ believe that God brought the real answers to these questions ......

1. who are we? - we are children of God whose delight was to create humankind that could enjoy his love and love him in return!
2. where are we? - we are in this incredible, bewildering, breathtaking universe, the creation of God who made it for joy. And God made it good - extremely good!
3. what is wrong with this world? - Though God made it good he gave humankind complete freedom to love him or not, live by his way or not, walk with him or turn our back on him - and we have as a human race taken the wrong option. The bible says that we have built up such a pot of sin and dirt in our lives that it is like a wall between us and God
4. what can make it right? - nothing we can do can sort this out but God in his love sent his perfect Son Jesus to pay the debt for our sin and take it on with him when he died on the Cross 2000 years or so ago. That leaves us one simple step - to swallow or human pride and ask God to take us back.

Now look at your trainers. Nice? But not as wonderful as going through this life in a right relationship with God and with his promises in your heart.
